New leaks suggest that Manchester United’s 2025/26 home kit will feature some design flair not seen since the Nineties.

It’s been a few weeks since early details about Manchester United’s kit for the 2025/26 season began to emerge from apparent leaks – and now we have an updated look at what the club’s home shirt should look like next season, including a piece of design flair that harks back to one of United’s most glorious eras.

Footy Headlines have compiled information and images from a number of alleged leaks to offer a clearer picture of a shirt which may still feature the traditional Diablo red, but which has plenty going on…

What Manchester United’s 2025/26 home kit looks like according to leaks

As you can see from the image above, Adidas appear to have concocted a pretty busy, detail-heavy number for the new season, with a return to the black trim which was last seen in the 2023/24 season when it adorned the shirt’s collar and sleeves.

This time, it’s got black piping tracing the sides of the jersey, a detail that’s appeared on a number of leaked Adidas kits over recent weeks, as well as black and white striped collars and partial sleeve ends.

The real departure, however, is the printed pattern on the sleeves themselves. Patterns have been used sparingly by the club’s kit manufacturers over the years and this is the first time they will have appeared on the sleeves alone since 1998.

This supposed new jersey appears to hark back to a classic Umbro design seen between 1996 and 1998. During the two seasons that United wore it, they only won one major trophy – the 1996/97 Premier League – but were firmly in the midst of Sir Alex Ferguson’s era of dominance of English football.

Given how badly the current campaign has gone under both Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim, perhaps United fans will enjoy being able to wear a shirt which calls back to a happier time…

Away shirt leak divides opinion

Elsewhere, leaks have also allegedly revealed the club’s change jerseys for the upcoming Premier League season – and the away shirt, in particular, is provoking a mixed reaction.

Featuring a distinctive purple fractal pattern with bold three-lined sleeves (a traditional feature of Adidas kits), it’s another unique and very different design from a manufacturer that has taken a lot of creative risks with United’s away jerseys since taking over from Nike in 2015.

Much like the Fluminense-style number from the 2023/24 campaign, it will likely be beloved by same fans and reviled by others, but at least Adidas seem set to play it a little safer with the third kit, which is a stylish black and charcoal grey kit with yellow and dark green stripes around the collar and sleeves. It’s hard to imagine many fashion-conscious fans being unhappy with that design, assuming the leaks prove to be authentic.

It’s been reported that United’s kits will be officially launched in June, and it seems that there are no current plans for the club to wear them towards the end of this season, a common marketing ploy used by some teams in the top flight in recent years.
