Ruben Amorim arrived in Manchester just before 3 p.m. on Monday, and sources have said he went straight to the club's training ground to begin work immediately. This sent a clear message—without him even speaking—that there was no time to waste and that he understood the enormity of the task ahead.
Although he doesn't have his full coaching staff due to the international break, like all clubs, there were several injured players and non-internationals, and he was introduced to them before anything else took place.

Sources have said Amorim wears a smile wherever he goes. He didn't have time to hold a meeting with Van Nistelrooy, as the decision had already been made that Van Nistelrooy would leave the club, regardless of the situation, and Amorim was keen to work with his own backroom staff.
He’s currently staying in one of the large hotels in the city centre, but sources close to the situation have said he is eager to find a permanent home for himself and his assistants, as they all want to settle in and be ready for the first game. They are keen to get their feet under the table, feel at home, and ensure they are fully prepared.
Top managers are known for their attention to detail, and many at the club have noticed that Amorim’s keen eyes are everywhere as he looks to familiarise himself with everyone and assess how things are going. There were brief meetings with his staff, but sources say the goal was simply to get their thoughts on the first 24 hours. This is a standard practice for Amorim and his team, who regularly hold meetings to discuss what they can improve and how they can do better.

Amorim is still waiting for his work permit, but in the meantime, he has given the green light for everything to continue as normal. He’s staying informed and wants to be kept up to date with everything happening at the club, including the under-21 game that will be played tonight.
His approach to life at the club has certainly impressed many at Carrington, and players are said to be open-minded and determined to work hard to ensure Amorim's success and bring the club back to where it belongs.
Carlos Fernandes, Adelio Candido, Paulo Barreira, Emanuel Ferro, and Jorge Vital, assistants who have worked with Amorim throughout his time at Sporting, have all arrived with him and are said to be impressed with their new surroundings.
There will be time to assess how things are going in the coming weeks, but for now, the first 48 hours have flown by, and the general impression is that the transition has been a positive one.
