Hide AdWest Ham target Porto striker Samu Aghehowa
West Ham are interested in FC Porto striker Samu Aghehowa, according to The Sunday People (page 49, April 13). The Hammers are being linked with a swoop for the player later this year. Graham Potter will be looking to put his own stamp on the London outfit with some new faces.
Aghehowa, 20, would be a useful long-term option if they managed to lure him to the London Stadium. He has been prolific since his move to Portugal back in 2024. The Spain international, who has one cap under his belt, has scored 22 goals in 46 games in all competitions so far in this campaign, 16 of which have come in the league.
The youngster started his career with spells at Sevilla, Nervion and Granada. Atletico Madrid snapped him up in 2023 and he spent a year with the La Liga giants. He was loaned out to Alaves to get some experience under his belt before Porto moved in for him and he hasn’t looked back since.
The 3am Verdict: Aghehowa would be an eye-catching addition for West Ham if they managed to get him. He has proved he can score goals over in Portugal and has bags of potential to grow and develop in the future. If the Hammers landed him, he would give them more competition and depth at the top end of the pitch and something different to what they already have.

Hide AdNottingham Forest eye Morgan Gibbs-White talks
According to Football Insider, Nottingham Forest are ‘keen’ to open ‘talks’ with Morgan Gibbs-White over a new deal. He has been linked with a switch to Manchester City. The Reds want to keep hold of him for longer though and are desperate to keep hold of him for as long as possible.
Gibbs-White, 25, linked up with Forest back in 2022 following their promotion from the Championship. They went up from the second tier under former manager Steve Cooper via the play-off final. They saw off Huddersfield Town at Wembley.
The attacking midfielder has since become a key player. He has played 110 matches so far to date and has found the net on 16 occasions. Prior to his transfer, he rose up through the academy ranks at Wolves and had loan spells away at Swansea City and Sheffield United to get experience.
The 3am Verdict: It would be a massive boost for Nottingham Forest if they were able to tie down Gibbs-White to an extension. Losing him would be a big blow and he would be hard to replace. However, if a team like Manchester City came calling, it may be hard to stand in his way, especially if the money is right.
