Arsenal will be aiming to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table when they travel to Kenilworth Road to take on Luton Town on Tuesday evening. The Gunners are currently two points clear of second-placed Liverpool following a run of three successive wins in the top flight, including a 2-1 victory over Wolves on Saturday afternoon.

Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard were both on target at the Emirates in that one, with Matheus Cunha scoring a late consolation for the visitors. A win in midweek would also take Mikel Arteta's side six points clear of defending champions Manchester City, who face a tricky clash against high-flying Aston Villa on Wednesday.

For their part, Luton were beaten 3-1 by Brentford at the weekend, and now face an unenviable double header against Arsenal and City within the span of a week. The Hatters are currently 17th in the table, two points above the relegation zone but in serious danger of being overtaken by Everton sooner rather than later.

But how will both sides line up at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday night? We've taken a closer look at their respective team news and predicted XIs below...

Arsenal Team News

Arsenal boast a relatively clean bill of health heading into their trip to Luton, but are still set to be without a handful of first team options. Defender Jurrien Timber might not feature again this season after suffering an ACL injury on the opening weekend of the campaign, while Thomas Partey is expected to be out for an indefinite period of time as he continues to struggle with a muscular issue.

Elsewhere, Emile Smith Rowe may not play again until January as he battles an ongoing knee complaint, but while Fabio Vieira is set to miss out following recent groin surgery. Speaking about the midfielder, Arteta said: "We’ve got a problem with him. He’s been having some discomfort. We sent him to see a specialist and the advice was to have an operation in his groin. He did that yesterday. We don’t expect him back this side of the winter break."

Japanese international Takehiro Tomiyasu is understood to be carrying something of a knock following Saturday's win over Wolves, but there is a decent amount of optimism that he should be available for selection in midweek.

Arsenal Predicted XI

David Raya; Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, Oleksandr Zinchenko; Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz; Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli.

Luton Team News

By comparison, at the time of writing, Luton are dogged by a number of absentees. Cauley Woodrow, Reece Burke, and Mads Andersen are all set to be sidelined for the foreseeable future due to a variety of injury problems, while Arsenal loanee Albert Sambi Lokonga, although ineligible to face his parent club regardless, is still recovering from an ongoing hamstring issue. Likewise, Tuesday's clash might come a little too soon for defender Dan Potts.

Elsewhere, there are mild doubts over the likes of Tom Lockyer, Teden Mengi, and Alfie Doughty, but the Hatters may face a more nervous wait over Marvelous Nakamba, who is currently contending with a knee injury.

Luton Predicted XI

Thomas Kaminski; Teden Mengi, Tom Lockyer, Gabriel Osho; Issa Kabore, Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu, Ross Barkley, Amari'i Bell; Tahith Chong, Andros Townsend; Carlton Morris.
