All of the latest Premier League transfer news, including Everton, West Ham, and Nottingham Forest

You hear that? That’s the sound of a barrel being scraped. We here at 3 Added Minutes write one of these Premier League transfer rumour round-ups every single morning and at a certain point, you begin to run out of ways to introduce them. Already this is the fourth one I personally have done this week. Or maybe it’s the fifth. It’s easy to lose count.

Anyways, for the sake of all of our sanity, I’m just going to cut to the chase. No frills, no frippery, no tangential ramblings to warm us up, just cold hard gossip straight from the off. Thank God it’s Friday.

Everton keen on Brobbey

It’s been a fairly bleak summer at Goodison Park thus far. Aside from the the arrival of veteran wide man Ashley Young, Everton are yet to complete any summer signings - although that could be about to change sooner rather than later.

In the first instance, they are understood to be closing in on a deal for Arnaut Danjuma, who eluded them back in January, and in the second, they are reportedly interested in making a move for Brian Brobbey - a man whose name is incredibly fun to say out loud. Go on, try it.

According to Football Insider, the 21-year-old Ajax striker is garnering attention from the Toffees and would be open to the prospect of a Premier League this summer. Brobbey scored 14 goals across all competitions last season, and is a Netherlands U21 international.

The 3AM Verdict:Everton need a goalscorer to take some of the onus off Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Brobbey certainly knows where the back of the net is. His pedigree is good, as is his potential, and if the Toffees can negotiate a decent price with Ajax, this could be a smart addition in a key area.

West Ham eye Borges deal

In recent seasons, Manchester City have started to garner quite the reputation for offloading their acadmey graduates for substantial amounts of money, and according to an update from the Manchester Evening News, they could be on the cusp of doing so again.

West Ham are said to be working on a deal to sign teenage forward Carlos Borges from the treble-winners, with a potential £14 million transfer seemingly gathering pace. The Portuguese prospect has scored 55 goals in 79 outings for City at youth level, and predominantly operates as a winger.

The 3AM Verdict:This has the feeling of a move that could benefit all parties nicely. For their part, West Ham would be getting an obvious up-and-coming talent, the player himself would be moving to a club where he has a notably better chance of breaking into the first team picture, and City would be receiving a decent transfer fee for a youngster who has cost them barely anything to develop. Everyone’s a winner.

Forest want Maatsen

And finally, Nottingham Forest are weighing up a £15 million raid for Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen, according to the Daily Mail. The defender shone as part of Burnley’s promotion-winning side last season, and is garnering plenty of attention from the Premier League, with both the Clarets and West Ham also said to be keeping tabs on his situation.

But Forest could strike first with a swoop for the 21-year-old as they look to solve their problem at left-back following the decision to opt against signing Renan Lodi on a permanent basis from Atletico Madrid. The player himself has expressed a desire to remain in West London, but there is a feeling that he could be allowed to depart Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks.

The 3AM Verdict:If Forest can pull this one off, it could be an ideal solution to their left-back uncertainty. Maatsen was a standout in the Championship last season, and he looks more than ready to make the step up to Premier League football. Whether Chelsea decide to let him go remains to be seen, but if they do acquiesce to a £15 million exit, he could pay that fee back several times over in the coming years.
