Leeds United could land 'chance to sign' Aston Villa flop as Man Utd ready to accelerate Serie A star chase

The latest Premier League transfer news including updates on Arsenal, Manchester United and Leeds

Gameweek 10 of the 2026/27 Premier League season is just around the corner, and we’re somehow already nearly a quarter of the way through the new campaign. The title race, relegation battle and scrap for Europe are all taking shape nicely, with Arsenal sitting top of the table after nine matches while Sunderland are the side currently lying rock bottom.

After this weekend, we’re set for another international break, as England look to secure their place in the UEFA Nations League knockout stages following a solid start to their campaign. Thomas Tuchel’s side take on Croatia and Spain in their final two matches, and have already all but sealed their progression to the next round of the competition.

Today’s rumours round-up begins at Arsenal, where there’s been an update - well, apparently - on a report from last week that linked Martin Odegaard with Bayern Munich. Caught Offside claim in their headline that the Gunners have “received an enquiry” for the Norway international, only to then just make reference to past discussions between the clubs, rather than a new dialogue being opened, as the headline suggests.

The report goes on to say that Bayern don’t consider Odegaard to be a priority transfer target, and emphasise that Arsenal are keen to tie him down to a new deal, as his current one expires in the summer of 2028. It’s claimed that Bayern’s interest is “worth watching” despite there being “no formal negotiations” between the two clubs.

The 3AM Verdict: We know it’s a quiet time on the transfer front in November, but this is really scraping the barrel. It’s almost a complete re-hashing of the article covered last week, with nothing new to back up a headline suggesting Bayern are making some form of progress towards Odegaard.

Man United ‘firmly in race’ to sign Como gem

Over at Old Trafford, Man United are still riding the high of coming from two goals down at half-time to beat Roma 3-2 in the Champions League on Tuesday evening. Their defence was still shambolic, however, and as they’re expected to chase a new centre-back signing in January. According to Team Talk, Como’s Jacobo Ramon could be the player they’re after.

They claim that United are “firmly in the race” to sign the highly-rated defender, amid rival interest from Chelsea and Arsenal. The report makes reference to a £41m “market value” picked up from a certain stats website, but such figures from are widely regarded as having no actual bearing on how much a player will be sold for. It’s also said that Real Madrid could activate a ‘buy-back’ clause in his contract put in place when they sold him to Como, which could make things pretty complicated for Premier League sides hoping to sign him.

The 3AM Verdict: We’re no strangers to wonderkid hype ourselves, and Ramon is a player who gets plenty of it. If his recent displays for Como are anything to go by, the 21-year-old is worthy of his rapidly growing reputation, and would be an excellent signing for Man United. However, we can’t shake the feeling that Real Madrid will ultimately ruin their fun.

Elliott could finally seal Anfield exit

We’ll round things off with a look at the future of Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott, who continues to struggle for game time on loan at Valencia. Football Insider suggest that Leeds United “may get the chance” to sign the England international permanently in January, after failing to get a deal over the line last summer.

It’s claimed that Valencia are ready to cancel his loan when the transfer window opens, and that Elliott is keen to secure a permanent move away from Liverpool after also struggling on loan at Aston Villa last season. Leeds are said to be keeping a close eye on the situation, and could pounce should the opportunity present itself in the winter window.

The 3AM Verdict: Liverpool have really messed about with Elliott for some time now - he’s clearly not going to get into the first team any time soon, so he should jump at the chance to play regular football elsewhere. We’d be highly cautious if we were Leeds, however, considering how poorly the player’s loan spell went at Villa last season and his ongoing difficulties at Valencia.
