Everton chase lethal striker with Leeds United link as Tottenham eye La Liga hidden gem

The latest Premier League transfer news concerning the likes of Chelsea, Everton, Tottenham and more

We’re now just about a quarter of the way through the 2026/27 Premier League season, and it’s shaping up to be another classic campaign in the English top tier. Reigning champions Arsenal are the current pace-setters sitting three points clear at the top of the division, ahead of a chasing pack including the likes of Manchester City and Brighton.

Meanwhile, Spurs have steadied themselves after a dire start to the new campaign, while Manchester United continue to spiral - as things stand, they’re 17th in the Premier League table with just seven points from their opening nine matches, and need to pick their form up soon to avoid being embroiled in a humiliating relegation battle.

Today’s rumours round-up starts in Belgium, where Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi continues to be linked with half the Premier League, including Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, Man City and more. This is because he scored 23 goals for his club last season, and has already notched up 12 in 14 appearances since the new campaign got underway.

Italian outlet La Stampa now report that Brugge have set an asking price of around £42m for the 22-year-old - but they won’t consider selling until next summer. Juventus and AC Milan are also said to be in the race to sign the striker, and it’s warned that should he excel again this season, the required sum to sign him could shoot up further.

The 3AM Verdict: All the Premier League teams mentioned could do with a backup striker, but Tresoldi wouldn’t be joining any of them to be their first-choice. £42m for a rotation option is a hefty sum, especially when other areas on the field need to be strengthened. Unless Brugge drop their lofty asking price, we can’t see a move to an elite PL team happening.

Spurs ‘tracking’ La Liga star

Over in La Liga, USA international Alex Freeman is picking up plenty of Premier League interest, with Tottenham, Man United and Man City all said to be tracking the right-back. Football Insider suggest that the player’s ability to play across the back line make him a highly attractive prospect.

Despite only just signing a new contract extension, it’s claimed that Spurs’ Pedro Porro could leave to join Real Madrid or Barcelona in a season or two, meaning the north London club may need to find a long-term successor. There’s no mention in the report of whether Freeman would be interested in a Premier League move, as he continues to enjoy Champions League football with his current club.

The 3AM Verdict: We don’t think Porro will be off as soon as next summer, but stranger things have happened. Freeman has been really impressing in La Liga and at 22-years-old, his best years are ahead of him. Man United could provide stiff competition for his signature, however, given how desperate they are for more quality in defence.

Everton linked with Leeds icon’s nephew

We’ll round things off at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, where Everton continue their hunt for a new striker after making a real pig’s ear of trying to sign one last summer. Team Talk say the club’s recruiters have Minnesota United striker Kelvin Yeboah - the nephew of ex-Leeds sensation Tony Yeboah - as a potential target ahead of January.

The report claims that the Toffees interest in Yeboah is more advanced than a number of their Premier League rivals, after the 26-year-old blitzed his way to 18 goals so far this season. However, it’s noted that there could be rival interest from Portuguese giants Sporting CP.

The 3AM Verdict: Yeboah has enjoyed a breakthrough season in the MLS, but at 26-years-old, he really hasn’t done enough in his career to suggest he’s ready to take the Premier League by storm. Everton simply have to get their striker signing right in January, and while Yeboah may be cheap, he doesn’t have a track record to suggest he’ll hit the ground running in the English top flight.
