The Toffees have endured something of a challenging week after they were subjected to a ten-point deduction after being found guilty of breaching the Premier League's profit and sustainability regulations.

The punishment saw Everton slide into the relegation zone and only Burnley are keeping them from the bottom of the table ahead of their meeting with Erik ten Hag's side. Protests against the Premier League are planned and there is sure to be an intense atmosphere as the Goodison Park faithful look to prove a point in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

The meeting with Sean Dyche's men will prove key for the Red Devils too as they look to make the return from the international by claiming a win that could lift them to within touching distance of the Champions League places.

There has been a lot of talk about where the 13-time Premier League champions stand under the former Ajax manager - but for all of the criticism Ten Hag's side remain in contention for a top four place and go into the trip to Merseyside on the back of four wins in their last five Premier League games.

There is a lengthy list of absentees for Ten Hag as he prepares to travel to Goodison Park this weekend. Casemiro (thigh), Lisandro Martinez (foot), Jonny Evans (thigh), Tyrell Malacia (knee), Amad Diallo (knee) and Facundo Pellistri (knock) are all out of the game and Danish internationals Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen are both expected to miss out with thigh and knee injuries respectively.

Jadon Sancho remains sidelined after a dispute with Ten Hag earlier in the season and goalkeeper Andre Onana will be the subject of late fitness checks after he suffered an abductor strain on international duty with Cameroon.

It wasn't all bad news for the United boss as full-backs Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are both back in training and are widely expected to be available once again.

Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Reguilon; Amrabat, McTominay; Antony, Fernandes, Mount; Rashford
