Welcome to your daily digest of all that biggest and boldest Premier League transfer rumours currently doing the media rounds – and we’ll kick your weekend off with some rather eyebrow-raising news from Old Trafford, where one of Manchester United’s big-money signings is closing in on a new club.
That’s according to Sport Witness, anyway, who have picked up on reports from the Turkish press which suggest that Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who not so long ago set the Red Devils back a hefty £50m, is set to join Galatasaray with a four-year contract offer on the table for the 26-year-old.

Hide AdThe latest reports don’t come with a price tag attached - although the article does note old rumours which suggested that Galatasaray were looking to spend around €20m (£16.9m) – but it sounds as if Manchester United’s long-anticipated summer fire sale is finally getting underway in earnest.
The 3AM Verdict: We expected United to want to sell Wan-Bissaka, we just didn’t necessarily think he’d pitch up in Turkey, where he’ll at least be able to reconnect with former team-mate Wilfried Zaha. Wan-Bissaka is still a fine defensive full-back even if he doesn’t fit in with the prevailing modern preference for attacking wing-backs who can stretch the field, so it’s slightly shocking that nobody from a big five league seems to be considering a bid. It’s considerably less shocking to discover that United are going to lose a lot of money on this one.
Hammers eye City outcast
News now from Caught Offside, who claim that West Ham United are among several sides interested in youthful Manchester City wing-back Sergio Gómez, the 23-year-old who shone for Spain as a winger in the last European Under-21 Championship but who has found chances restricted under Pep Guardiola since.
Apparently Real Sociedad, Real Betis and Sevilla are all interested too, and he would set a club back in the region of €15-20m (£12.6-17m), with the player keen to find some “fresh pastures” and City seemingly happy not to stand in his way. With the Hammers looking to rejuvenate their squad with younger players, Gómez certainly fits the bill.

This seems like a very low-risk buy at such a low price.
Chelsea consider moves for Euros stars
Let’s finish at Stamford Bridge today, where there’s always a big transfer move in the offing – and it seems as though new head coach Enzo Maresca is keen to change things up at left-back if HITC have their facts straight.
They believe that Chelsea are eyeing up a bid for AC Milan’s French international full-back Theo Hernández, believing him to be an “ideal fit” for their new manager’s system. Milan themselves are apparently not all that keen to sell, but the player himself has kept comments on his future just cryptic enough to ensure that there’s some interest there. Should they be unable to prise him away from Milan, they may look across town to Inter Milan’s Federico Dimarco instead.
The 3AM Verdict: Presumably this would be predicated on Marc Cucurella leaving and is almost certainly not a move that will happen any time soon given the need to sell first and the fact that both players are on Euros duty with France and Italy respectively – but between Cucurella’s shaky form and Ben Chilwell’s recent injury record, left-back does feel like a position of need. No fees are mentioned, however, which makes it tough to gauge how good these deals might be. Let’s assume, based on recent history, that Chelsea will contrive to overpay.
