Miley, Livramento & Fernández-Pardo: Latest Newcastle injury news ahead of Everton tie
The latest Newcastle United injury news and expected return dates ahead of two games against Everton.
Newcastle United face Everton in the fourth round of the EFL Cup on Thursday evening, but their hopes of inching closer towards a second major trophy in two years have been hit by fresh injury concerns.

Both Lewis Miley and Matías Fernández-Pardo missed Sunday’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace due to previous undisclosed fitness issues, and head coach Matthias Jaissle could now be forced to make the trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium without as many as four first-team players – all of whom could also be doubts for Everton’s return visit to St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Monday night.
With kick-off fast approaching, we’ve collected all of the latest Newcastle injury news and updates below, along with the absent players’ expected return dates when available.
Will Miley & Fernández-Pardo play against Everton?

Both Lewis Miley and Matías Fernández-Pardo were unexpectedly left out of Jaissle’s squad for the trip to Selhurst Park on Sunday, and it was later revealed that the pair had picked up injuries which could also compel them to sit out the EFL Cup tie against Everton.
Miley has been struggling with what Jaissle confirmed was “an issue with his glutes” – his buttocks – which he picked up during training last week, while summer signing Fernández-Pardo came down with an unspecified illness.
Jaissle has told the press this week that both players are “still doubtful” for Thursday’s cup tie, with Miley expected to face a late fitness test to see whether he can be included in the squad.
“[There are] question marks on if they can make it,” Jaissle said. “We need to see step-by-step over the next two days to decide if they're able to be in the squad or not. With both of them, we don't want to take any additional risk and, hopefully, they are getting back soon."
While Miley and Fernández-Pardo are both at risk of missing the first Everton match, they stand every chance of being involved in Newcastle’s next Premier League game at home to the same opposition on Monday, and there are no indications that either player will be sidelined for an extended period of time
When will Tino Livramento be back for Newcastle?

Newcastle are also waiting for the return of full-back Tino Livramento, who has made just three appearances for the club this season and hasn’t played since mid-September due to a nagging knee injury.
Livramento pulled out of England’s squad for the recent international break and hasn’t returned to training since, and won’t be ready for either of the coming fixtures against Everton – but he is expected to be back on grass over the course of the next week or two.
“We need to be cautious, and we don't rush him,” Jaissle told the press on 15 October. “We know about his injury situation and history but we're optimistic in the next few weeks we can bring him back step by step.”
A specific return date has not yet been set, but Livramento should be in contention for a place in the matchday squad by mid-November – although it will be touch-and-go whether he can play prior to the next international break next month.
The other player who’s currently sidelined by injury is reserve goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen, who sustained a torn hamstring earlier in October. The Frenchman is expected to be unavailable for around two months, with a mid-December return looking the most likely scenario.
