Ryan Gravenberch has become the latest player to suffer an injury setback, and is now among five players who are expected to miss Wednesday night’s game in Turkey. There are continued questions, meanwhile, over the availability of Dominik Szoboszlai as the Hungarian continues to work his way back to full fitness following a hamstring injury.

With kick-off against Fenerbahçe fast approaching, we’ve collected all of the latest Liverpool team news and injury updates below, along with our prediction for Andoni Iraola’s likely starting line-up.

The latest injury blow to hit Liverpool came on Tuesday morning when it was reported that Ryan Gravenberch would be left out of this week’s Champions League squad due to an injury which he picked up last week. The Dutchman was confined to the bench during the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal and Iraola explained after the game that he had “some issues in the heel,” with the injury presumed to have happened during training.

As a result of that issue, Iraola decided not to risk Gravenberch during Sunday’s game and he will now miss the Fenerbahçe match. Iraola’s comments over the weekend implied that the problem was not expected to be serious, but no return date has been set and no prognosis made public at the time of writing.

Gravenberch became the fifth player to be ruled out by injury ahead of Wednesday’s fixture. Jeremie Frimpong (hamstring) is expected to be ruled out until after the November international break, Conor Bradley (knee) is targeting a December return, and Hugo Ekitiké (calf) and Giovanni Leoni (ACL) are both currently pencilled in to make their comebacks in January.

With five players already ruled out, there will be lingering concerns over the status of Domninik Szoboszlai, who returned to action on Sunday as he recovers from a persistent hamstring problem.

The 26-year-old came on for youngster Trey Nyoni with just over half an hour of regulation time left, but it’s not been made clear whether he will be sufficiently fit to start in Istanbul – although the player himself has suggested that he is ‘ready’ to play a full 90 minutes.

“Sometimes, your body says 'rest a little bit' and my body told me to 'stay calm, you've had enough games now’,” Szoboszlai said in an interview over the weekend. “I missed games against Man City and LASK, and then I felt again very good after a couple of days off, but it seemed I wasn't ready. I was actually ready from the start [of the defeat to Arsenal] but I've played 30 minutes and let's see from now on."

If fully fit, Szoboszlai could start in order to give Florian Wirtz a rest, while Ronald Araújo is another player who could take some time off in order to allow Joe Gomez to get some competitive minutes. Rio Ngumoha and Kostas Tsimikas could push for starts again after being included in the line-up for the last Champions League game against Villarreal.

Full Liverpool predicted XI vs. Fenerbahçe (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Tsimikas, Van Dijk, Jacquet, Gomez; Nyoni, Mac Allister; Barcola, Szoboszlai, Muñoz; Isak.
