The next steps in the promising career of Amad Diallo could be one of the stories of the summer transfer window as Manchester United prepare to make a decision on the talented winger’s future.

Diallo was in stunning form last season as he helped Sunderland reach the Championship play-off places, despite contending with a lengthy injury list throughout the campaign as Tony Mowbray was forced to select a youthful-looking lineup on a regular basis.

The 20-year-old scored 14 goals and provided four assists as he gave further notice of why the Red Devils handed over around £17m to Serie A club Atalanta to secure his services in January 2021. There is a chance Diallo could be offered a chance to shine at Old Trafford next season but The Northern Echo have claimed West Ham United are keen to secure the youngster on a loan deal and give him a chance to prove himself in the Premier League.

The report states Sunderland remain keen on securing Diallo on loan once again but their chances of doing so have ‘suffered a major setback’ after the Hammers joined Everton and Burnley in showing an interest in the Red Devils youngster.

Seagull swoop moves closer for London rivals

Another transfer race that we are already upgraded to a ‘saga’ is that of Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

The Ecuadorian international is the subject of interest from several clubs, with Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal said to be among the frontrunners to land the Seagulls star during the summer transfer window. A recent report in his homeland has suggested it is the Gunners that are closing in on a deal after Caicedo agreed personal terms - although it also states Chelsea are willing to pay a higher fee to see off their London rivals.

Sky high demands for Sweden striker

The performances of striker Viktor Gyokeres was one of the main reasons why Coventry City moved to within 90 minutes of a Premier League return before a penalty shoot-out defeat against Luton Town in the Championship play-off final ended their hopes of ending their 22-year absence from the top tier.

The Swedish international scored 21 goals and provided 12 assists in 49 league appearances and his prolific form has attracted attention from several Premier League clubs. The likes of Brentford, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton have all been linked with the 25-year-old - but his most recent interest comes from rather sunnier climes.

Portuguese outlet Sport have claimed Sporting CP are keen to land Gyokeres during the summer transfer window but have been put off by a £17m asking price from the Championship club. Such a figure would represent a club record fee for Sporting and would surpass the previous record of £13.75m that was set when Paulinho joined from league rivals Braga in January 2021. The Portuguese giants are hoping to persuade City to accept a lower fee as Gyokeres enters the final 12 months of his current contract - but the Championship side are confident they can get what they are asking for from one of the striker’s many suitors.
