3AddedMinutes talks a look at the latest transfer speculation - with more than a little tongue in cheek.

The January transfer window is just over a week away from closing and speculation of potential deals is rapidly reaching a frenzied state.

There have already been a whole host of eye-catching deals concluded across the Premier League - and the latest media speculation suggests there will be a few more happening over the next week.

Player ‘all coaches want’ doesn’t want to be coached at Arsenal

Things are going pretty well for Arsenal at the moment and it seems any player would want to join Mikel Arteta’s side.

Flying high at the top of the Premier League table, still in the FA Cup and Europa League, the Gunners are becoming an increasingly attractive proposition for potential signings as they battle for silverware on three fronts before the end of the season.

Well, that is unless you are Real Sociedad’s highly-rated midfielder Martin Zubimendi.

Spanish outlet Cadena Ser have claimed the Real Sociedad star has rejected a move to North London - despite the Gunners signalling their intention to meet the £50m release clause in his current deal.

Zubimendi has received significant praise from former Liverpool star Xabi Alonso, who tagged his as ‘a player all coaches would want’ after working with the midfielder during his time as an academy coach.

Sadly, for Arteta, it seems he won’t get that opportunity for the time being.

Magpies could solve San Siro scrap

Newcastle United could unwittingly have become the key to resolve a transfer tug-of-war between AC Milan and Inter Milan.

Much like his teammate Skirinar, the Dutchman has been tipped for a reunion with Antonio Conte at Spurs. The latter of the Serie A giants still harbour hopes of persuading Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij to commit his future to the club and extend his existing deal, which is set to come to a close at the end of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for the experienced centre-back - but it is AC Milan that are said to have made an enquiry over De Vrij’s openness to making what would be a highly controversial move.

However, the Rossoneri could be dealt a dose of disappointment with DAZN claiming Newcastle have made ‘an important offer’ for the defender, who they claim is ‘close’ to agreeing a summer move to Tyneside.

Lampard feeling loan-ly in Everton’s bid to avoid relegation

Things must be lonely for Frank Lampard at the moment.

The Everton manager is besieged with criticism as his side fight for their lives at the wrong end of the Premier League table. Saturday’s defeat at fellow strugglers West Ham United hardly helped their cause as the loss at the London Stadium provoked a wave of speculation over the former England star’s future with the Toffees.

However, reports have suggested Lampard is going to get even loan-lier (sorry!) by completing a temporary move for Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech. The Morocco star started the Blues goalless draw at Liverpool on Saturday but is said to be on a list of players that could leave Stamford Bridge before the end of the transfer window.
