Arsenal’s late show keeps them going in the title race, while Liverpool thrash a shellshocked Manchester United.

Liverpool were meant to be struggling, and Manchester United were meant to on the up under Erik ten Hag - but a record-breaking 7-0 thrashing has seen the Premier League landscape change overnight.

Cody Gakpo, Mo Salah and Darwin Nunez all netted twice as Liverpool notched up their biggest-ever win over their fierce rivals, and United went into apparent meltdown all over the pitch.

On this week’s Chris Wheatley Show, Chris and Jason are joined by ManchesterWorld’s Michael Plant to chew over one of the most astonishing results of the season, and ask where it leaves the two sides in a frantic chase for a Champions League berth.

Elsewhere, Arsenal left it late - very, very late - to secure a crucial win over struggling Bournemouth, and Chris takes a look at the Gunners’ continuing title charge.

As things stand, Mikel Arteta’s side are five points clear at the top of the table, with 12 matches of the season left to go. Arsenal will be looking to extend the gap between themselves and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, and they’re set for a busy month with clashes against fellow Londonders Fulham and Crystal Palace on the horizon, as well as home and away legs against Sporting CP in the Europa League to contend with.

Elsewhere on this week’s show, Chris takes a look at some of the questions surrounding Mikel Arteta’s side - including Leandro Trossard’s injury, Reiss Nelson’s new contract and the possibility of returning reinforcements for the defence.
